The four of us totally enjoyed our 3 day tour to Prudhoe Bay with Roger Freed, the driver. He gave excellent narration and made many stops for wildlife. Out of 7 trips to Alaska, this 3 day tour was a huge highlight. Now we have a good picture of northern Alaska. My husband said, “this is the best $775.00 I have ever spent in Alaska.” Our 2 nights accomodation in Wiseman at the Arctic Getaway B & B was awesome – friendly host, very comfy cabin and a hearty breakfast. I highly recommend this tour. We would do it again with first timers to Prudhoe Bay. Thanks again for your hospitality.

We just wanted to tell you how wonderful our experience was with the 1st Alaska Outdoor School tour to Prudhoe Bay. We had a wonderful knowledgable driver and tour guide. Tom treated us like family & there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to make our trip our trip of a lifetime. The roads were less than desirable but he navigated them with ease. We are sooo thankful we didn’t take our RV up there. We would have had more damage than we would have saved in going alone. We stayed in a quaint Bed & Breakfast in Wiseman. It was very clean and the folks were very friendly(even when I accidently locked the door to our room and the key was inside). The weather was nice. Sunny with some rain at night then during the day on the way home. We saw lots of carribou but the muskoxen didn’t show up this time and neither did the Dall Sheep. The flowers were so incredible beautiful and bountiful. If somebody tells you there’s nothing to see up there they were blindfolded by thier own narrowmindedness. There’s so much beauty to see all one has to do is open their eyes and see it. The mts, rocks, and grasses all change with the time of day and the way the sun hits them. We are not sorry we did this trip and would tell anyone how is sitting on the fence about it, they won’t be sorry they did it.
Sincerely,
Ed and Phyllis Faber
Maggie and I sure enjoyed our foray on the Haul Road to Prudhoe Bay. Roger was a great guide and was a great addition to our Alaska adventure. We were looking for a tour that would allow us to travel by land both ways and each leg of the trip was a different experience. Heidi provided comfortable lodging, got to see quite a bit of wildlife and visitng the Arctic ocean was spectacular. Thanks again, be safe and well.

Stefanie and Diana, Artic Circle-Northern Lights-Pipeline-Tour, March,30th 2010. There is not much too say instead of: the best guided trip of my life! Ralf just knows everything about the place or area we went to. He never got tired of answering our questions and he even told us more really interesting facts about the life in the wilderness. You can feel that he loves what he does and did everything to make us feel comfortable. Thank you sooo much for the awesome trip and we hope everthing goes well for you. Cheers Stef and Diana from Thuringia, Germany.
My partner Trish and I recently visited Alaska and had contracted Ralf for 3 customized tours. We were staying at Chena Hot Springs Resort (WAY out in the boonies!), and he picked us up each day and brought us safely home. On the first tour, he took us up to the Artic Circle and I know we saw at least 10 moose and a snowshoe hare on that trip. (Not to mention being able to stand under the Alaskan Pipeline while Ralf told us all about it.) Another day, he treated us to an amazing view of Denali (aka Mt. McKinley) who was showing her beautiful summit in blue skies and sunshine. On our final tour, Ralf took us to the Museum of the North(on the University of Alaska campus)and to the World Ice Sculpting Championship in Fairbanks, both of which were amazing in their own way. Throughout our time together, Ralf proved himself to be extremely knowledgeable about Alaska and all its diverse aspects; he has a delightful sense of humor which he shared easily with us; he was sensitive to my physical limitations due to a hip replacement; and he provided the best homemade sandwiches we’ve ever eaten. You simply CANNOT go wrong with Ralf, either on one of his scheduled tours or those customized to your request!

My sister, Joy, and I had a wonderful day tour with you to Chena Hot Springs last October (2009) and we agreed to send you some of the photos we took before we plunged into the hot pool. So, here they are compressed for your use. I hope you find them useful. I am sorry for the delay in sending them. We have great memories of our tour with you. It was great to hear so many intimate details about Alaska and how you have enjoyed living in the forest, hunting and exploring the country. What a wonderful life you have had – though you need to be strong to be able to cope with that lifestyle and the cold climate. We were impressed. We hope you are well and happy and still enjoying conducting those wonderful tours.
We spent a lot of time with Ralf during our 4 days in Alaska doing the Arctic Circle,Dog Mushing, Snow Machines and Chena Hot Springs tours. His knowledge, love and understanding of the country is second to none. Despite asking numerous questions,he always had a interesting and informative response. Our mission was to see the Northern Lights and if it was not for Ralf I honestly believe that we would not have seen them. On the way back from the North we had the truly magical experience of seeing them twice, thanks to Ralf’s knowledge and a bit of luck. Thanks for showing the country which you have chosen to settle in, we will be back one day. We also really enjoyed the Snow Machines, blasting around the hill side, was an adrenline rush.

My wife Irene and I went to the Arctic Circle with Ralf. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyble and informative journeys I have made in a long time as Ralf regaled us with stories of life in the wilderness. I learned more about animals and their nature in that drive than I have in years of going out into their habitat. I receommend Ralf to anyone interested in learning about the frozen north.
We went on the Arctic Circle Adventure with Ralph, Sunday September 13th 2009. A most informative guide. He made it quite evident, his love for the great outdoors. The tour was filled with history and background information about Alaska, her wildlife and the development of the Alaskan frontier. A very knowledgeable and enlightening individual, he kept us on the edge of our seats in anticipation of the next highlight that would be shared with us. The majestic beauty of Alaska rolled by us on our journey to the Arctic Circle. Mixed in along the way were the dialogues providing insight to the development of the Dalton highway and its link to the oil industry and other key factors affecting the Alaskan interior. many thanks for a most enjoyable experience.
